Finally, a fire extinguisher to assist with Lithium Ion battery fires.

The new Encapsulation Agent technology provides faster cooling which works exceptionally well against Li-ion battery fires. Two portable sizes are available 4L and 9L. Includes wall bracket.

Not just for Li-ion fires but rated for A,B(9L+) and D type fires. These extinguishers are not for use on 240v/10A or higher electrical fires.

The 4L extinguisher has been tested on a 2.4kWh Li-ion battery fire, and the 9L has been tested on a 4.8kWh (400Ah) Li-ion battery fire. 

The F-500 Encapsulation Agent (EA) provides a perfect solution to Li-ion battery fires. Li-ion batteries burn at extremely high temperatures so the key to stopping this type of fire is to quickly remove the heat and stop the reaction of the electrolyte material with other components of the battery, known as thermal runaway.  

How does the F-500 EA work differently from a DCP or Foam extinguisher on a Li-ion battery fire? Most foam or powder type extinguishers work best on flat surfaces as the extinguishant cannot adhere to vertical or angular components. The F-500 agent can penetrate inside the structure of a battery to extinguish this type of fire.

These new extinguishers are fluorine-free and do not contain PFOA, PFAS or any fluorine ingredients are also non-corrosive, non-toxic, non-hazardous and fully biodegradable.
